Vitality and wellness, like many other areas in your health, are necessary parts of designing a great life.
While I am not a doctor, I can help you see the importance of these two areas of your life as important and necessary.
All I have to do is to tell you about how I feel at different times of my health journey.
Now, I am no jock.
I never played any professional sport.
However, I am a keen fan of football (soccer), boxing cricket, tennis and basketball.
Now that you know about who I am, I can see the picture that has formed in your mind…I sit in front of the tv looking at people engaged in these sports.
And your picture would be a perfect one.
My Activities
However, as much as I look at the tv, I also do some things to maintain my vitality and improve my wellness.
I walk about 20 miles every week, eat two meals a day on average and have not had meat in more than 30 years.
Yes, you could say that health consciousness is important to me.
It dominates my activities.
Culture
I was reading something a friend of mine wrote.
He was in Sweden and something struck him.
The people there were mostly slim and and seem fit.
That had me thinking about culture.
One of his observations is that the people there do not see the need for an elevator in any building up to 5 stories.
If that were the policy here, there would be many who would see that situation as a major challenge.
It is obvious that as human beings we need some form of exercise.
Climbing stairs may be one form of that.
But I think the worst example of a culture gone bad is the prevalence of fast foods that is every where here.
The convenience of fast food has turned into a staple for many.
Focus On Your Diet
You are what you eat.
Therefore, if you want to become healthier, and remain as fit as possible, consider changes in your diet if you know it is not where you want it.
Most times people just see the convenience and not the negative impact.
Not before it is too late that is.
Living with intention is important in what we do and how we end up living.
With a focus on improving your diet you could bring vitality and wellness back into your life.
Yes it is a challenge.
I could imagine not even remembering what viatality feels like for some people.
Change Is Good
In terms of moving in the direction of good health, change is good.
And there are two areas that need your immediate attention: diet and exercise.
If you make changes in these areas, you can bring back some of those healthy feelings.
If you can’t remember the last time you walked up 5 flights of stairs and you do not normally exercise, you may need to change your habits.
Your health is your wealth.
If you did not believe that, it is time that you do because if you don’t, there will come a time when your health will cost you.
Every day that passes without change, is a day closer to a reckoning.
You are reading this today because it is time for change.
Do not let this opportunity pass without making a change.
What To Do?
When it comes to your overall health, you start with these two: diet and exercise.
As much as you can in both areas, do something starting today.
Find a way to eat less fast food and start a small exercise program.
Initially it will be difficult for you.
But you cannot let that stop you from taking those necessary actions.
Those actions may be small but they are important.
Over time they become very big as you continue with the changes.
Continue until you get to the break through point.
That is when your body is adjusting to your new way of eating and walking up the stairs is no longer a challenge.
As you get there you will experience a return of vitality and wellness.
You don’t stop.
This has to be your new normal because it is so important.
Designing A Great Life
You must be healthy in order to consider designing a great life.
Your health is part of that design.
If you are feeling lethargic it is difficult to concentrate on the ideas and activities that will make your life better.
Once your health is back in stride, it is much easier to sit down and plan the great things you are going to accomplish with your life.
You want to stay well and energized because when you do, you can conquer the challenges that always meet people who are on a mission.
Designing a great life is a mission.
You need to have your vitality and wellness in tip top shape so you can handle the pressures as they come along.
Who said doing or being something special is going to be easy.
You need all your faculties to be ready to take you through the storm of challenges.
You have to persist until you get to the other side of the storms.
On The Other Side
On the other side of the storm is where you find the beauty of accomplishment.
Usually life has more meaning when you get there.
Things are looking brighter than they did a few months ago.
You are on your way to accomplish your goals and you are happy.
Now it is much easier to think about other pursuits.
The more energized you are the more you feel like the sky is the limit.
But it takes you having to push through those rough patches that come when you are making changes in your life.
Diet and exercise are big and important changes.
Together they combine to improve your vitality and wellness.
And that is where the special you comes to the fore.
You can pursue your goals with energy and winning becomes normal.
Winning is when you overcome your obstacles one at a time.
You can now live your life with passion and vitality.

Stay energized and you will find your life filled with the things and ideas that make you happy.
